Quality StandardsThere are many high visibility retro-reflective end products in the market place, and there are numerous standards relating to both the raw materials and the finished products. On this page we will attempt to simplify this complicated area to help you understand when and where you may need to consider these standards. The standards you may come across relating to retro-reflective materials and products BS EN471 2003 High-visibility warning clothing for professional use. Test methods and requirements BS EN 1150 1999 Protective clothing. Visibility clothing for non-professional use. Test methods and requirements BS EN 13356 2001 Visibility accessories for non-professional use. Test methods and requirements You may need to consider the end use of the retro-reflective product you are purchasing. If your requirements are for a fun promotional type product, then you need not consider the regulations appropriate. If however your intention is to inform the user that they will be improving their visibility to other road users and so therefore enhance their safety whilst using the product, then you should consider supplying an item that meets a recognised standard.
